Booking for 2020

It has already been almost a month since we closed for
the season.  Time has flown, we have been busy everyday,
catching up on things we are unable to do while we are
open. The Crew has been doing painting, trail and fire
pit rehab, Cabin maintenance, and general cleaning up.
Truth be told, we also spent a little time enjoying
this place we call home!

As always, when one season ends, it is time to start
thinking about the next. Sorry if we have kept you
waiting.  If you are already looking forward to sitting
around the campfire in 2020--here is the scoop:

1) GET A JUMP START - Send a reservation REQUEST via
our online system starting Friday evening, October 11.
This is helpful in expediting the booking process for
most guests.https://v2.reservationkey.com/23448/reserve/c

Julie will try to review these REQUESTS in advance and
let you know of any POLICY Issues that would cause
rejection of your reservation.  This will give you a
chance to come up with an alternative before the
OCTOBER 14 & OCTOBER 15 reservation opening date*.

*REMEMBER! This Online REQUEST IS NOT a Confirmed
Reservation!!!!!! This is ONLY A REQUEST!
It is not a confirmed reservation until you have spoken
to Julie or Emily OR receive an Email confirming your
booking on or after October 14.

2) In Advance--please review our Deposit/Cancellation
Policies: http://www.moonlakeresort.com/faq/
3) USUALLY, Reservations that include both Friday &
Saturday will require a 3rd night (Sunday or Thursday).

4) Once bookings have begun, Reservation requests that
leave a single night opening between already booked
stays will likely not be accepted.
(Single night stays are hard to book and given our
limited season, we cannot afford to have un-rentable
nights during the peak of it).
View our online calendar
starting October 14, to see potential conflicts.
https://v2.reservationkey.com/23448/reserve/c

5) After making your request--check your email
frequently. If possible, we will communicate this way
first instead of by phone.

6) On October 14 & October 15, PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN
TO "LIVE" PHONE CALLS but you can leave a message if
the line is busy. NOTE: the number to call is
(435)454-3142. We'll call back or email ASAP, but in
some cases, that may not be until the next day.
Keep trying to get through if you're able.
Remember, it is always recommended to have a second
or even 3rd choice of dates and cabins, if possible.

Resort Closing One Month from TODAY!

Believe it or not, Fall is coming fast. Moon Lake Resort will close for the 2019 season on Monday September 9th.
If you are ready for a visit, don’t wait, the calendar is ticking.

Off Peak Cabin rates will go into  effect on Sunday August 18th, ($65-$169 per night)
There are still some nice openings including cancellations for the favorite Cabins 23 and 24!

Good snow pack last winter has given us a beautiful full lake.
In 24 years, only one other year 1998 or 1999 was it this full for this long.
Right now the level is sitting at 97 percent of capacity!

If you haven’t made it up yet this year or want a second (or third) visit, check out our availability calendar or call Julie for options.  435-454-3142

SUMMER'S HERE!

Well, let's clarify that.  Friday, June 21st was the official First Day of Summer, 2019.
But it seems as though the mountains didn't get the memo, so a little snow and Wintry temperatures snuck in while the door was open to the Season change.  Thankfully, once Spring realized it was heading in the wrong direction, it course corrected back toward Summer with a week plus of sunny 70 degree weather forecast from here and beyond.  FINALLY!
So, now we're on track for SUMMER FUN with warmer temps,  a full lake, good fishing and blue skies ahead.
Hope to see you soon!

Don't Be Confused!

Moon Lake Resort OPEN daily June 1st thru September 8th

People often confuse the North slope (Mirror Lake) Uinta Mountains weather and forecast with that of our conditions here at Moon Lake on the South Slope. Don’t let your friends or the News convince you that you won’t be able to get here. All of the NEW SNOW that fell last week has MELTED.  Only a few patches of old winter snow remain in heavily shaded areas. Warmer temperatures are in the forecast.  Guests, however, should prepare for cooler, wetter weather than has been the case in recent history.

The Campground is OPEN but Tenters may face more challenges as the ground is wet and muddy in many places.

If interested, Rustic Cabins with heat, electricity, sinks, fridges and stoves may be available as an alternative to camping at rates ranging $65 - $85 per night. Full Facility Cabins which also include hot water and private bathrooms range from $89-$175 per night.

Check our availability calendar to see if there is something open during your expected visit or just give us a call.  https://v2.reservationkey.com/23448/reserve/c

THERE WILL BE NO BEER, HERE, FOR SALE, THIS YEAR.

SORRY, FOLKS--  IT'S  B.Y.O.B AT MOON LAKE FROM NOW ON!

Moon Lake Resort is No longer licensed to sell Beer to the public.

The Utah “Off-premise Beer Retailer Act” which was signed into law July 1, 2018 requires increased fees, State sponsored staff training and display requirements that are just not practical or economically feasible for our little store.

We have never made a profit selling beer, but have continued to carry it as a convenience for our guests.
Unfortunately now, the dollars no longer make sense for the small volume we sell.

We regret the inconvenience this will, undoubtedly, create for some of our guests and visitors to the area.

So... if you'd still like to enjoy a cold one at Moon Lake...
REMEMBER TO PACK IT WITH YOU WHEN YOU COME.
