 2016 RESERVATIONS OPEN OCTOBER 15, 2015
Hi Folks,

Another Season has come and gone. This was OUR 20th summer at Moon Lake.
That’s every summer since 1994 except 1995 & 1996. Boy, are we getting old!

2015 was a good season. We hope you can say the same about your summer and your
visit here if you were able to come.

To Recap 2015:
- There was LOTS of water in the lake and mostly agreeable weather and fishing.
- The Forest Service initiated a long-planned road improvement project from the
Forest boundary to Moon Lake which includes widening and repaving.
This will hopefully be completed by next Spring.
-The Lodge and Cabins closed mid-September and the Crew spent a few weeks doing
maintenance and improvements that will hopefully make your next visit even better.

That brings us to HOW AND WHEN TO MAKE CABIN RESERVATIONS FOR 2016
Here's the Scoop...

1) JULIE WILL START TAKING PHONE RESERVATIONS AT 8AM (MST) on
Thursday, October 15th at our Colorado number--(970)731-9906.

2) As always, Reservations will be handled on a FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED basis.
PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN TO "LIVE" PHONE CALLS. On the 15th, you can leave a
message if the line is busy and we'll call back ASAP, but that may not be until the
next day! Otherwise, keep trying to get through if you're PATIENT and DETERMINED!

3) GET A JUMP START - You CAN send a reservation REQUEST via our website
"Webervations" system, starting Monday, October 12th.
*REMEMBER! This Online Request IS NOT a Confirmed RESERVATION!!!!!!
This is ONLY A REQUEST! and you STILL MUST SPEAK TO JULIE
on or after October 15th to confirm. Many restrictions apply.
Julie will TRY to review these REQUESTS in advance and let you know of any
POLICY issues that would cause rejection of your reservation. This will
give you a chance to come up with an alternative before the October 15th
reservation opening date,
*REMEMBER, it is ALWAYS RECOMMENDED to have a SECOND CHOICE of dates and cabins, if
possible!

Note: The Resort will briefly close for 3 days--5/31-6/2 for Spring “Fine-Tuning”.
ALSO: The Weekend of September 16 & 17 is POTENTIALLY available for a Private Party
or Wedding that would book the entire Resort.

See link for rates: http://moonlakeresort.com/cabins.html
Our last rate increase took place in 2013. We hope that YOU understand that OUR
operating costs, unfortunately, keep going up annually.

EXCEPT larger groups.
*You MUST enter card information ONLINE to have this option.

CREDIT CARDS CANNOT BE TAKEN OVER THE PHONE
for reservations more than 30 days prior to arrival. See link for details:

30 days for individual stays and within 90 days for groups. See link for details:
http://moonlakeresort.com/faqs.html#oppolicies

and ADVISE YOUR ACCOMPANYING FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO DO THE SAME.

Hello, Friends
It is with great sadness we feel compelled to share the news that this
week, Julie's Father and Mother passed away within days of each other.
Both had suffered poor health and had been under constant care for some
time. Jim and Jeanne both passed peacefully and, with God's grace, will
be united again in the love and spirit that bound them together for 59
years.
We would ask that you keep them (and Julie) in your best thoughts and
prayers.
We would also appreciate your understanding and patience with any
Moon Lake business for a short time while we tend to our family matters.

We will be back to work as soon as we can.

Thanks for your friendship, love and support.
        The Reardon Family

Statement from Moon Lake Resort regarding 4 year old girl injured by a falling tree on Wednesday July 2, 2014.

The incident occurred approximately ¼ mile off the Moon Lake Road in a wooded non developed area.
It was NOT within Resort Cabin or Campground Boundaries.
The incident and its cause is currently under investigation by Forest Service Law enforcement.

The child and family were comforted in the lodge while awaiting emergency medical services.

The child was attended to by local EMT first responders and was transferred and transported by helicopter to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City.

A family member told Resort staff (by phone the following day-7/3) that the child was becoming more responsive, her condition was stable and her injuries were being monitored and treated.

Thanks to Everyone who assisted during this Emergency.
